FAQ'S

WHY CHOOSE A CELEBRANT?

Celebrants offer a personal authentic ceremony, bespoke to you. Delivered in your chosen venue and at a time of your choice.

If the venue of your choice doesn't have a Civil Marriage Licence, then the Council Registrar cannot perform your ceremony there.

If the venue does have a Licence, then a Registrar is an option, however the ceremony may have limits in choice of wording, music and how it takes place.

Please contact your local Register Office for more information.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CELEBRANT AND A REGISTRAR?

Celebrants write a bespoke ceremony, whereas a Registrar will read the standard ceremony as required by law.

A Celebrant will encourage you to write your own vows with their support, whereas a Registrar will offer a couple of standard vow choices.

With a Celebrant you can hold the ceremony wherever you want to, somewhere that holds a special place in your hearts. You may choose your home, garden, a field or the beach, just remember we cannot plan the weather!

ARE THE CEREMONIES DIFFERENT?

Yes.  The ceremony officiated by a Celebrant is bespoke and tailormade to represent your story. The ceremony officiated by a Registrar follows the guidelines required by law.

CAN A CELEBRANT LEGALLY MARRY US?

No, Celebrants cannot complete the legal paper work and you do not sign the legal register.

Celebrants create a bespoke ceremony, a celebration of the two of you joining together and committing to sharing your life ahead.

The legal process must be carried out at the local registry office.

WHAT AREAS DO YOU COVER?

Stoke-on-Trent, other areas are covered, subject to travel costs at a £0.45 mileage charge.

Overnight accommodation charged at cost, if required.

CAN FRIENDS AND FAMILY GET INVOLVED IN THE CEREMONY?

Yes. When we plan your ceremony, we can agree the best way to include your family, friends, pets etc. Everyone has their part to play in your big day, how big or small is down to you.

WHO WILL YOU OFFICIATE A CEREMONY FOR?

Ceremonies are for everyone, this is about inclusivity, sharing the love and an opportunity for everyone to come together regardless of faith, beliefs, cultures etc.
